At the heart of it all is a high-purity quartz tube, filled with halogen. This design is what lets the element stay hot while shrugging off thermal shock and the chemicals of the PET process. The halogen cycle is the unsung hero here. It keeps the brightness consistent and stops the tube from blackening too soon, which means you get a longer life out of it. And the R7s connector?
