Getting the light right
To fix this, we tweak how the lamp emits light. Instead of using raw, short-wave radiation, we use special quartz coatings and doped filaments. Think of it as a filter. It cuts out the aggressive “blue light” and the blinding glare, leaving you with a soft, warm glow. We push the energy into long-wave infrared instead. Where you put it matters
You can’t just throw these into a ceiling and call it a day. Placement is everything. If the lamp is too close to a low ceiling, the ceiling itself starts soaking up all the heat. Over time, that can actually damage your building materials. We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out the exact footprint these need so the heat actually reaches the floor where you’re standing, rather than just warming up your attic.
The honest trade-off
Here’s the thing: when you filter the light to make it safer for your eyes, you lose a little bit of that raw, instant punch. A “soft-light” lamp isn’t going to hit peak temperature as fast as a clear industrial tube. You might need to leave it on a few minutes longer to get the room feeling just right.
